Job Overview

AgriNovus Indiana is focused on advancing Indiana as a nationally recognized leader in the agbiosciences sector – the area where traditional agriculture and farming collides with life sciences, tech, engineering, manufacturing and science. An initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), AgriNovus is focused on achieving its vision through a mission to promote and accelerate the growth of Indiana’s agbioscience community through innovative collaborations between industry, academic and public sector partners.

The Content Manager’s primary role is to continue the ongoing content development and public outreach of the agbioscience community and sector advancements. This key role is responsible for the coordination and creation of content across multiple platforms (social, web, email, media), internal communication items, and to work closely with our Digital Media Manager to execute content across various channels. This position oversees the day-to-day management of all public education and awareness content to ensure community engagement and brand consistency. The Content Manager will be responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content to achieve our goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the Ag+Bio+Science podcast by executing successful relationship with Inside Indiana Business, inviting and creating questions for guests, and establishing and maintaining protocols for workflow, auditing, optimizing, publishing, evaluating and refreshing
  • Create and manage a forward-looking schedule for press releases and team talking points that has content that is consistent with AgriNovus voice, readability, comprehensiveness and is of highest quality and accuracy (strong proof-reading skills are essential)
  • Lead media relationships for AgriNovus that help the organization develop coverage for the agbiosciences with well established partners and opportunities for new relationships
  • Plan for the creation, approval, and delivery of content for a variety of tactics including emails, event invites, websites, etc. and supporting partners and other key stakeholders
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of the following: setting content focused meetings, working with stakeholders to curate that content, submitting content for upload and review, leading website measurement in conjunction with our Digital Media Manager, and providing recommendations for optimization
  • Creating speaker materials for QUADRANT for optimization with the Digital Media Manager and coordination with the QUADRANT event coordinator
  •  Conduct content audits as well as gap analysis and communicate key opportunities
  • Interview and engage key experts/customers/thought leaders for relevant and inspiring content
  • Work in conjunction with the Digital Media Manager to optimize digital content for optimal search
  • Provide additional support to the Director of Communications + Engagement as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • 5+ years experience in content development (articles, blogs, case studies, videos) for digital channels
  • Experience in digital marketing project management
  • Superior writing and other communication skills (presentations, content creation)
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and optimization activities
  • Experience working with content syndication tools, preferably Salsify
  • Creative thinker, self-starter, ability to take initiative, be proactive, and work independently
  • Working knowledge of CMS, databases and publishing software
